7:15am
brain: WAKEY WAKEY! We're late already!
me: fuck off. it's sunday. i'm staying in bed until 9.

an hour later
brain: KNOCK KNOCK
me: is it 9 yet?
brain: errm ... not quite.
me: fuck off.

three minutes later
brain: AHEM!
me: it's not 9.
brain: WE HAVE SO MUCH TO DO TODAY!
me: *wide awake*

Yes, yes, lots to do. I have a lot of copy to edit for the DCRCC website, and seemingly endless amounts of laundry and unpacking and, oh hell, organizing. I might even have football practice this afternoon in Virginia ... not sure how that happened, but I stopped resenting the possible interruption when I realized I could read on the train. I'm obsessed with a book vjb sent me (from her month-long California vacation, sigh), Eat Pray Love, by Elizabeth Gilbert. Reading is such a delicious luxury.

And now I'm eying the book, which I just grabbed from the kitchen counter (where I left it this morning after reading it while making coffee, like ya do) so I could be sure I had her last name right, and now it's here next to me and it's so much more appealing than editing and laundry.

meh.

brain: WE HAVE SO MUCH TO DO TODAY!!
me: yeah, yeah.

Re: Sorry so late but...

Not vain AT ALL. I am so grateful to you! This book came to me, through vjb, though you, at the absolute perfect time. I didn't even have the wherewithall to ask the universe for it, but the universe came through anyhow. :) I'm still in India, and I don't want the book to end. I think at this point I've already purchsed four copies to give to friends, and there will probably be many more.
Thank you, thank you, thank you.
