i am exhausted.
i spent yesterday in training for dcrcc at howard university hospital, learning their evidence-collection procedures, getting a tour of the ER (kudos to howard for putting a sign outside the door of the family meeting room, where they let survivors and their friends and family wait until a nurse who is trained to work with survivors and an advocate from dcrcc arrive that says "psychiatric ward," by the way. way to make a survivor not feel crazy. thanks!), and doing role plays.
i would be content to spend the remainder of the day here on the couch, petting the dog, staring at the ceiling.
instead, i'm gonna hit the shower and run up to busboys for some poetry.
