on my sleepless saturday just past, i was doing google searches on random people i hadn't heard from or seen in a long time. i thought of a guy i knew at cornell - not particularly well, but i always thought he was a really sweet kid - and googled him. i didn't find much out, but that was par for the course.

i was walking home from the train tonight when he jogged past me on 15th street.

we stared as we passed each other and then stopped and turned, and met each other half way with a hug. we caught up a little, exchanged information, and he invited me out for drinks on thursday with his friends from the kerry campaign, which is what brought him here from boston. we figured we hadn't seen each other in at least 5 years.

3/4 of a block later, i ran into the guy i just started seeing, and got a quick kiss and a huge smile before we each hurried off in our own direction. *swoon*

i called

microbie in a bit of an overwhelmed tizzy (i live a sheltered life. i haven't run into two people i know in the same block since i left ithaca) and babbled at her for a few minutes, resolving to go home and hide under my bed after i walked buddy.

during my walk with buddy, i ran into avery. avery was george's roommate his sophomore year. (for those of you who don't know george, i dated him for a few years in ithaca and adore him still. he moved here about a year before i did and i am delighted that we maintain a wonderful friendship. he's truly a good kid.) avery and i exchanged info (i was so stunned that he remembered me! it's been almost TEN years!) and resolved to get together soon.

so yeah, hiding under my bed now.
