Well, Roe v. Wade is still intact and we're not at war. SO things aren't as bad as they could be.
I just have a little rant. In talking about the potential new leader of house democrats now that gephardt is stepping aside, a democratic congressman by the name of Harold Ford suggested that one of the contenders, Nancy Pelosi from California, the current House Democratic Whip, may be too liberal to take the post.
Ford said, in an interview with Paul Begala on "Crossfire":
I think one of the central questions for Ms. Pelosi will be can she hold on to the moderate and conservative wing of the party?
Well, in the spirit of that concern, I have a message for the conservative wing of the democratic party.
Turn in your badges and join your colleagues on the other side of the aisle.
This is no time to trifle. Conservative Democrats? I would rather have even less footing in the house than to concede the party to people who claim to be middle of the road or conservative democrats when what they really are clinging desperately to the coattails of the party in the White House. And THAT party hasn't seen the middle of the road in some time.
