When Does Chili Become a Sin?

To coax myself out of a lousy, mopey mood, I decided to cook. (Welcome to my world: food is a cure.)
I decided to make chili, so inspired by [livejournal.com profile] microbie, Thomas, and their amazing Frito pie last weekend.
I went to Whole Foods in search of beans. A favorite chili recipe of mine from The Joy of Cooking has several different beans (6, I think) and I was going to go that route. In the way that only Whole Foods can be inept, they were out of most canned beans. Left were pinto and black-eyed peas. I thought of scrapping the idea altogether, but decided in the end that pinto beans would do. I got a can of black-eyed peas, too, as a nod to the new year.
Three cans of pinto beans and one of black-eyed peas went in the pot with a bottle of Shiner Hefeweisen, a jar of xxx-hot salsa, some cayenne pepper, a smattering of chipotle peppers, and salt and pepper. While those ingredients got to know one another, I cooked cut-up bacon. Once the bacon was out of the pan, a pound of farm-raised, corn-fed beef went in with half an onion. When the beef was browned and the onions a little soft, I moved them to the side of the pan to make room for spicy Italian turkey sausage. When the sausage was browned, I sliced it up and put it, with the beef and onions, in the pot. Finally, I de-glazed the pan that had cooked the meat with a bottle (minus a sip or two) of Shiner Bock.
It's simmering now.
Is there any chance I'm not going to hell for this?

edit: I was just feeling nutty (ha!) and added cashews. Protein bonanza, anyone?

Hell

The only way for you to avoid hell is to bring some of that chili to me immediately.

I'll exchange it for some of the lasagna I cooked today. Seems a fair trade.

Oh, like you weren't going to hell already!

The chili just makes it a smellier ride.
