the best often die by their own hand
just to get away,
and those left behind
can never quite understand
why anybody
would ever want to
get away
from
them

Charles Bukowski

I've never heard of Charles Bukowski before. I've read a short bio and a few of his poems tonight and I am very intrigued. I am putting him on my "Need to know more about" list.

I've known people like that. None that ended in death, but a fair number who never wanted to see any of their family again, and were able to arrange it. And sometimes I've known those left behind, and they could never understand it, but I sure as hell could.

It reminds me of a song lyric my friend Keith wrote: "How can I tell you how much I miss you when you won't go away".
